What is Shylee Smiles? Shylee Smiles is a non-profit organization founded to honor the legacy of Shylee Bevis, a beloved member of our community. Inspired by her love, kindness, and compassion, our mission at Shylee Smiles is to advocate, educate, and provide opportunities for families with loved ones fighting cancer. We are dedicated to honoring Shylee Bevis' legacy by showing the same love, kindness, and compassion that she showed the world!
When is the event? Labor Day - Monday, September 1st, 2025 - 7:00 am CT RACE START
Where is the race? The race starts and finishes adjacent to the AMC Movie Theater at the Florence Mall
Where do I get my packet? Early Packet Pickup for the Race will be held at Coldwell Banker on Friday, August 29th.
Are t-shirts included with registration? Yes, if you register before the t-shirt deadline your exclusive race tee in the size you order is 100% guaranteed! Race T-shirt design will be announced closer to race day!
When is the deadline to register and be guaranteed a t-shirt? End of day August 22nd, 2025. After the deadline, shirts will be available in limited quantities/sizes as you register and can be selected while you check out on a first-come, first-served basis while inventory lasts.
Are there medals? Yes! Prizes and awards will be handed out for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals are awarded to the top three female and male finishers in each of the 10-year age groups. The top overall female and male runners, and top overall Masters (40+) and GrandMasters (60+) divisions.
What are the age groups? 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
I’d like to participate. Can I just walk?
Absolutely! We always have people who want to walk, so you will not be alone!
I‘m part of a group that’s running together. Can I pick up everyone’s bib?
Yes! All you’ll need is their full name and everyone will be ready to Smile for Miles on Race Day!
Is there parking? This location has plenty of nearby parking at the Florence Mall at no cost.
Can my dog come? Yes! Well-socialized and leashed dogs are welcome at the back of the pack.
Are strollers welcomed? Yes, strollers are welcome at the back of the pack. If you are running for a competitve time, please inform us on race day morning so we can add an offset to your start time to account for the distance to the START line.
Are bikes, hoverboards, scooters, skateboards, push bikes, unicycles or wagons allowed on course?
We’re sorry, but only runners, joggers, walkers, baby strollers/joggers, restrained pets and wheelchairs are allowed.
Are the 10K and 5K courses timed and USATF-certified? Yes! All races will be RFID Chip Timed using USA Track & Field Certificatied Courses: AL18027JE AL18026JE
Do the courses have hills? There are some small hills in the course, but nothing challening above a 10% grade
Where do race proceeds go? This is a charity event, with proceeds for the benefit of the Shylee Smiles Foundation
What if I can't be there in person, can I still get involved? Yes! You can donate to the Shylee Smiles Foundation through our Shylee Smiles Donation registration option
